FAQS

How are fees deducted? When you set up your account, you have the option to connect your Stripe or PayPal accounts. You can even connect both. This way when a buyer pays for a sold lot, the funds are automatically sent to your account. The Indy.auction software fees are deducted automatically from your Stripe and/or PayPal account when the buyer pays.

Any optional Auction Management Services are invoiced separately by The Auction Collective
Can I change my pricing tier at a later date? Yes - You can switch to another tier at any point from within your account dashboard. When doing so, you will need to create a new auction as auctions cannot change between tiers. 
Are there any additional costs?

There are no additional auction fees.

Indy.auction is designed as a self-serve auction platform, so you can run your own auctions whenever you like at no extra cost to the percentage software fee on sold lots. 

However, if you'd like support with setting up your account, uploading lots, or managing your auction, we offer optional services for a pre-agreed fee. You can learn more on these here.

How can I pass on the Indy fees to the buyer?

When setting up your auction, you can choose to add a Buyer’s Fee - either as a fixed amount or a percentage of the final price. The exact amount is entirely up to you and can be used to cover your auction costs. 

This fee will be automatically added to the buyer’s checkout total, on top of the hammer price (the final result for the auction lot). 


The Buyer’s Fee is clearly displayed on the auction page under Auction Rules, and is included in the default auction terms and conditions - so all bidders are fully informed before placing any bids.

Are there any additional payment fees?

Payment provider fees, such as those charged by Stripe or PayPal are charged separately by the payment provider themselves.
